Why Choose Wowzer Cosmetics Training Academy?

The aesthetics industry is growing rapidly, but unfortunately the training standards across the industry can vary significantly. Many short courses available today only provide CPD certificates or certificates of attendance, which may not fully demonstrate competency or meet future regulatory expectations.

At Wowzer Cosmetics Training Academy, we take a different approach.

We specialise in delivering regulated qualifications through ProQual, an Ofqual recognised awarding organisation in the UK. This means our courses are subject to strict educational standards, external quality assurance and formal assessment of both knowledge and practical competence.

Choosing a regulated qualification ensures that your training is recognised, credible and designed to support long-term professional development within the aesthetics industry.

Regulated Qualifications vs CPD Courses

When choosing aesthetics training, it is important to understand the difference between regulated qualifications and CPD training courses.

CPD Courses

Many training providers offer CPD courses which typically involve short training sessions and a certificate of attendance. While these courses can provide useful learning opportunities, they do not always involve formal assessment, external verification or nationally recognised qualification frameworks.

Regulated Qualifications

Regulated qualifications are recognised by Ofqual, the UK government regulator for qualifications.

These programmes involve:

• Structured learning programmes

• Assessment of theoretical knowledge

• Practical competency assessments

• Internal and external quality assurance

• Nationally recognised qualification levels

This ensures learners demonstrate true competence, not just attendance.

Preparing for the Future of Aesthetic Regulation

The aesthetics industry is currently moving towards greater regulation and licensing requirements across the UK.

Industry bodies such as the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and government consultations have already highlighted the importance of practitioners holding recognised and regulated qualifications when performing aesthetic treatments.

By completing a regulated qualification through ProQual, learners position themselves ahead of these changes and demonstrate that their training meets recognised professional standards.
